Hello and welcome to this space! My name is Becca and I use they/she pronouns. I am glad you’re here!
I am a queer, white, able-bodied clinical social worker and somatic therapist. As a therapist, I use a collaborative, strengths-based, trauma-informed, intersectional approach and am dedicated to engaging in therapy through a social justice lens that recognizes the impact of oppressive systems on the human experience. I approach therapy through a somatic lens using an approach called somatic experiencing. Through somatic experiencing, we get curious about the story that your body holds, rather than just the story your thinking brain holds. I proudly identify as a queer therapist and especially enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ community.
I have been a Vipassana meditator for nearly the past decade, which informs my work as a therapist. I use mindfulness practices, am grounded in Buddhist philosophy, emphasize the mind-body connection, and invite spiritual exploration into our time together.
My experiences range from wilderness therapy, community mental health, university counseling, teaching, working as a multi-day hiking guide, and adventure tourism.
I am dedicated to using a non-judgmental approach, rooted in curiosity and connection. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe enough space for exploration, growth, healing, and authenticity to support you in connecting more fully with yourself and others.
In my free time, you can find me camping, traveling, dancing, and hanging out with my sweet cat.
